First Person on Scene - Basic & Intermediate

First Person On Scene (FPOS) courses provide the essential knowledge and skills for First Responders with an emphasis on understanding the 'why' as well as the 'how'.

The FPOS courses has been created through a partnership between the Institute of Health Care Development (part of Edexcel, the UK's largest qualification awarding body) and the Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care, of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh.

The course is also a requirement for SIA Close Protection licensing.

FPOS courses are given at two levels:

- The two-day basic course lays the foundation for community responders and includes key interventions like breathing and circulatory assessment and support.

- The five-day intermediate course builds on these skills and includes defibrillation, administration of oxygen and fresh tissue workshops.

Both Courses are suitable for anyone with a very basic or no knowledge of first aid.
